The Ascom OAP channel addresses the Unite Messaging Suite from Ascom and offers the possibility to send text messages to end devices with displays such as DECT handsets or the MyCo WiFi phone.

Alarm messages can be sent to Ascom Unite systems at low cost via the Ascom OAP channel. The alarm messages are shown on the display of the end devices and can be conveniently acknowledged at the pressing of a button.
For the current models of Unite Connectivity Managers (UCM) the OAP protocol is used in version 4.x.
The Ascom OAP channel connects to the OAP server, which is part of an Ascom Unite Connectivity Manager (UCM). The UCM manages the telephone system and handles the data transport between the OAP server and end devices via the OAP protocol.
